This watch draws inspiration from traditional Chinese architecture, featuring a hand-crafted guilloché dial by Cheng Yu Cai—one of fewer than 30 guilloché masters worldwide—preserving an intricate, fading art. Its design incorporates classical line patterns and is crafted from 904L steel for enhanced visual appeal. The caseback showcases a lion motif by Liu Yuguan, symbolizing a guardian, with cloud-like engravings that complete the watch’s unique cultural and artistic identity.
This watch is inspired by the beautiful geometry found in traditional Chinese architecture, featuring a dial crafted using the guilloché technique by one of the only artisans in China, Cheng Yu Cai. Guilloché is an ancient, intricate craft, and there are fewer than 30 known masters in the world today. The complexity of the technique has led many watch brands to switch to automated methods like printing or CNC machines, which is why preserving this skill is so important. The watch incorporates classic line compositions reminiscent of shapes found in Chinese architecture, and the use of 904L steel adds to its striking visual impact. The caseback features a decorative lion motif, symbolizing a guardian of the watch’s dial design. This was conceptualized by Liu Yuguan, using cloud-like engravings that tie together the overall identity of the timepiece.
