Cartier Santos Octagon Ghost Ref 2965

The Santos story began in 1904, when Louis Cartier created a wristwatch for pioneering aviator Alberto Santos Dumont, establishing a design language defined by strong geometry and exposed screws that would become unmistakably Cartier. Ref. 2965 belongs to a much later and more unconventional chapter of that history, translating the Santos identity into an octagonal case and integrated bracelet during the bold design era of the 1980s. What makes this example particularly compelling is its so called “Ghost” dial, where the muted grey surface and increasingly subtle Cartier signature give the watch a distinctive aged character rarely encountered in more conventional Santos executions.
