Rolex Oyster Speedking Ref. 6418
Our Opinion

Rolex Oyster Speedking Ref. 6418 (Bubbleback) The Rolex Speedking first came out in the 1940s as part of the Oyster Precision line—designed for people who wanted something simple, reliable, and easy to wear every day. The name Speedking reflects Rolex’s love for precision and performance, even though this isn’t a racing watch. One of the standout versions is the Ref. 6418, made in the late 1950s to mid-60s, known for its compact size (around 31mm), clean dial with Oyster Speedking Precision on it, and a solid hand-wound movement, Caliber 1210 or 1225. It also comes with the famous Oyster Case, giving it extra durability and water resistance, plus a gold-plated finish that adds just the right amount of vintage charm. Back then, the Speedking was seen as an “entry-level Rolex,” but today, it’s a hidden gem for collectors who love old-school pieces with character. Between the minimalist look, smaller size (which is totally back in style), and that satisfying feeling of winding it up by hand, the Ref. 6418 is basically classic Rolex, but low-key.
